It’s time to swap your bowl of mussels for a cocktail, the famed Piano Bar pop-up is heading to Portarlington for five very special nights this summer, giving locals the perfect way to spend a balmy evening in the Bellarine.
Following the success of Piano Bar’s new pop-up experience, Piano Bar Shipped, in Werribee, Barwon Heads, Flemington, Frankston and the Geelong Race Course, the Portarlington Pop-Up was originally scheduled to run right through to January, however, the team made the difficult decision not to proceed.

“There are many factors influencing our decision, including the BOM prediction of a 75% chance of higher-than-average rainfall in the region this summer,” the team shared.
“Last summer, we experienced two serious flood events onsite, and this year the proposed site is already soaked and quite muddy underfoot.
“There is potential for irreparable damage to plant and equipment, expensive last-minute cancellations, and hazardous conditions due to heavy rain and flash flooding.
“Staff shortages, site safety, OHS concerns, and issues around securing adequate insurance protection are also contributing factors.”
Thankfully though, Piano Bar have teamed up with the Portarlington Football Club and Pivot City Productions to bring the Piano Bar Experience to the Portarlington Football Club for five nights from Boxing Day onwards!

While some of the main events have been rescheduled (including Life In The Fast Lane – A Celebration of The Eagles and Good Faces 4 Radio presents Blaze of Glory – Bon Jovi Tribute, among others), the Portarlington event will see ‘The Piano Bar Experience at Portarlington Football Club’ take over, bringing along the unparalleled atmosphere and entertainment that only Geelong’s piano bar delivers.
Dance the night away with four hours of interactive live entertainment as their stellar pianists and vocalists will be taking requests for your favourite songs, plus pop-up drag shows from one of PB’s superstar drag queens.
The Piano Bar experience will run:
Monday, December 26th from 6pm – 10pm
Tuesday, December 27th from 6pm – 10pm
Thursday, December 29th from 6pm – 11pm
Friday, December 30th from 6pm – 11pm
Doors open at 6pm, entertainment begins at 7pm and the venue closes at 11pm.
Food trucks will be on site offering a delicious array of dinner options and the Portarlington Football Club bar will be open, with proceeds from bar sales supporting the local sporting clubs.
Presented by Piano Bar in conjunction with the Portarlington Cricket, Football, and Netball Club and Pivot City Productions, B*tches With Balls Drag Bingo will also take over the space on Wednesday, December 28. It’s three hours of interactive entertainment, drag and campery that you love, hosted by stunning Drag Queens. A fabulous way to break up the work week with our snack menu and full bar menu available at bar prices and a $100 gift voucher up for grabs!
Doors open at 6pm and bingo balls drop at 7pm.
All bar proceeds will be going to the Portarlington Football Club.
