Pop some bottles because Melbourne's Prosecco Festival is back and it’s coming to Abbotsford.
Ahhh prosecco – the liquid gold that ignites any party. With its slight sweetness and fruity characteristics, it’s easy to see why Prosecco is one of the most popular wines available. If you have a love for this bubbly Italian white wine and you don’t mind spending a whole day dedicated to sipping, then we’ve got just the event for you!
Back better than ever, The Prosecco Festival is pouring into the Abbotsford Convent on the 26th of March for a Saturday of sun and sips. And because it’s been so long between drinks, this time there will also be local craft beer and other sparkling wines on offer (think Lambrusco and sparkling Rosé), making this one must-attend event.
Stay up to date with what’s happening in and around the region here.
With a huge number of Italian and Australian Proseccos to try (far beyond what you’ve ever seen before), food stalls (thinks oysters and cheese) and beautiful Italian food (gnocchi), this Prosecco party welcomes everyone; from the everyday bubbly lover to the vino aficionado.
As you’d expect from a festival dedicated to the world’s most popular sparkling wine, attendees will be able to learn about the different styles, chat to winemakers and importers, and even join The Prosecco Queen Mel Brauer for exclusive masterclasses and VIP experience, where you will learn the nuances of your favourite bubbles and put your newfound knowledge to the test as you taste your way around the event.
All attendees receive a free Plumm crystal tasting glass with your ticket, which can be used to sample a range of over 35 Proseccos from major sponsor Dal Zotto Wines, as well as international and local offerings from Cester Camillo, Pizzini, Box Grove, Brown Brothers, Cloak and Dagger, Babo Wines, Calneggia, De Bortoli, Divici, with more to be announced!
The Prosecco Festival will also play host to the newly released NV Kylie Minogue Prosecco Rose, a sweet, refreshing drop brought to you by the iconic singer.

The Italian festa atmosphere continues with delicious food from local providers on the lawn. Everyone’s favourite Prosecco Van, Van Di Vino will be back serving up Aperol Spritz. Food trucks and providers are preparing a feast, including oysters from John the Oyster Bloke, gnocchi, cheese, artisan antipasto and cannoli from That’s Amore, arrosticini from The Abruzzo Lab, and arancini from Arancini Art. In a festival first, northside legends Zsa’s Bistro and Deli have created a special festival menu including Kingfish crudo, prawn cocktail rolls with Prosecco Marie Rose cocktail sauce, tiramisu and more.
Official pizza partner Ganzo will be firing up their ovens and serving their signature Tuscan pizze. Owned and operated by renowned chef Ian Curley and restaurateur Valerio Calabro the pair combined their love of the Mediterranean in early 2020 to create an authentic Italian restaurant on Bridge Road, Richmond, and now they’re bringing their feast on the road.
So go on, grab your partners in wine and book in one of two sessions; 11am-3pm and 4.30pm-8.30pm.
Tickets are available via Eventbrite – beginning at just $65. Due to COVID-19 density limits, tickets are limited, but the bubbles are endless. This event is strictly 18+, so book in the babysitter and pre-order your Uber.
