PREMIERE: Surf Coast’s Immy Owusu releases heavy, afro-rock single ‘Danger!!!’

Surf Coast denizen Immy Owusu is a multi-instrumental songwriter, known primarily as the drummer for young indigenous powerhouse Yirrmal and former drummer for Surf Coast rockers Children of the Sun.

We featured him back in late 2017 when he dropped his Narcissistically Self-Titled and Debut EP, and now he’s launching into 2019 with a brand new single ‘Danger!!!’.

Immy Owusu’s ‘Danger’ is a sonic trip from start to end and is a complete genre bending experience, its guaranteed to be one of the most unique and individual local sounds you’ve heard.

If Immy’s new single weren’t evidence enough of intense creative depth, the accompanying video clip is confirmation of a musician with vision and insight into what makes a compelling soundscape.

Chock full of monstrous and otherworldly cartoon creatures, the three minute mixed media video was made in collaboration with Surf Coast artists Brodie Davis and Martha Dawson and certainly takes you on a ride with animation from Immanuel Dreessens.

We’re getting some serious David Bowie vibes from the chorus but you’ll just have to see for yourself.

Check it out below!

‘Danger’ together with the B-Sides Akoma and Flashback will be on all major streaming services on March 5th.

Immy will be officially launching ‘Danger!!!’ at Port Fairy Music Festival March 8-11.
