Returning to the glorious setting of the music-loving coastal village for its 45th edition from 11-14 March, the annual festival will see Weddings, Parties, Anything, Emma Donovan & The Putbacks, Courtney Marie Andrews, Baby Et Lulu and Kee’ahn on the line-up, alongside Eric Bibb, Eilen Jewell, Mandolin Orange, Elephant Sessions and Jon Boden.

Of course, this is just a select number of acts locked in for the festival, with plenty more yet to be unveiled over the next 12 months, having made the tough decision to cancel this year’s event due to the uncertainty surrounding COVID-19 restrictions.

To fill the void of its cancelled 2021 event, the festival put together a new concert series celebrating homegrown folk talent across the long weekend. Taking place in the town’s Reardon Theatre, the sold-out series will feature performances from Kutcha Edwards, Nigel Wearne, Ruth Hazleton with Fiona Steele & Luke Plumb, Louisa Wise, Charm of Finches, Mick Thomas’ Roving Commission, Kee’Ahn and an all-star line-up in the special event Keep the Circle Unbroken.

“We were ecstatic when our March Concert Series – which replaced the postponed major event this year – sold out within hours. It shows the thirst to experience live music in Port Fairy, with its extraordinary history, and the desire for audiences to return to our glorious seaside location to experience the best in music from around the world in the safest possible way,” says Port Fairy Folk Festival program director Justin Rudge.

“The positive and future-thinking response from Port Fairy Folk Festival committee, staff and contractors, as well as the close-knit creative community has been overwhelming, highlighting the township’s passion to deliver world-class events and show off our seaside village in all its glory.

“We can’t wait to welcome artists from around Australia and the world to Port Fairy in 2022 as things continue to improve with the pandemic. Announcing the Festival, a full twelve months in advance will provide audiences – both new and established – with plenty of time to plan their Port Fairy experience.”

The 45th Port Fairy Folk Festival will take place in Port Fairy, Victoria from 11-14 March 2022. Subscriber tickets go on sale from Monday 1 March and all tickets are available from Thursday 4 March.
