Barwon Club Hotel

Known as one of Geelong’s greatest live music venues, the Barwon Club is also a good place to get a hearty meal with a beer to throw it down. We’d say that’s a pretty darn good mix for before the game. With it’s close proximity to the stadium, and football-friendly nature, this joint may be on a few other people’s minds as well. Though it’s worth fighting for.

Where: 509 Moorabool St, South Geelong
When: Mon-Fri 11am-10.30pm; Sat 11am-1am; Sun 3pm-12am

Burgerinc.

Let’s be honest, there’s something about burgers that just screams football. And rather than paying the price for one at the stadium, save your $$ for a top notch burger at Burgerinc. With 10 years experience and a walk down Noble street to the stadium, it’s a good pick!

Where: 320 Pakington Street, Newtown
When: Mon-Wed 11.30am-8.30pm; Thu-Sat 11.30am-9pm; Sun 11.30am-8.30pm
Ph: (03) 5222 7776

Lorm Thai

Thai mightn’t quite be on your mind before a big game. But with a reputation amongst locals for having the best feed around and a brisk 5-10 minute walk to Kardinia park, it’s a good option if there ever were one. Plus, hopefully with everyone grabbing parmis and burgers you’ll be able to avoid the crowd.

Where: 485 Moorabool St, Geelong
When: Dinner 7 nights a week, 5-10pm
Ph: (03) 5222 3148

Cremorne Hotel

Still within walking distance to the stadium, and guaranteeing you a good pub feed, the Cremorne has a diverse menu from the homestyle right to the fancy. Though we know you’ll all be here to get one of the parmis  pictured above.
