Place To Film

One of the greatest things in Geelong is touching on the many undiscovered stories and tales those who live in the city have. Melbourne director Johnny Maloney has created one such story, and is telling it through his short film Place to Be, though it will only get told through your help.
Place to Be follows the story of 14-year-old Esther, a Liberian girl who has lived in Geelong with her mother Sarah for the past nine years. She soon becomes reunited with her estranged father, Daniel, when he is finally accepted into Australia. Esther soon gets put in a trick decision of following cultural values her father enforces on her from a homeland she cannot even remember to the one she has grown to know.
