Pistol Pete's Turns One!!!

It’s hard to believe Pistol Pete’s is just one year old. The food and blues restaurant and live music venue has become such an institution to both the Geelong and blues communities, with people coming from all over Australia to check it out.
Owner and namesake, Pete Raimondo agrees, “It feels good getting to the end of our first year, it sure doesn’t feel that long! We feel grateful for the positive response and support we have had.”
It has been a very big year for the Little Malop Street venue, seeing some of the country’s best blues acts performing and stopping by, as well as the many local up and coming artists showcasing their talents.
“There has been some great times over the year, like the roof leaking and no power an hour before our first gig! Having some great acts play here, sometimes I just stand back and think, ‘Wow, this is so cool!’” he laughs.
“But what stands out most, is the satisfaction of the people coming here and experiencing Pistol Pete’s – that’s a buzz.”
Birthday celebrations will be kicking off today and in true Pistol Pete’s style, the party will be a toe-tapping delight with some of the best the region has to offer.
“We will be celebrating with what we do best….Great Southern style food n blues!! Chris Wilson and band tonight and Mick Dogs Bone Yard on Saturday night. Also everyone coming in today, has a chance to win a great hamper we put together. So let the good times roll!!” he smiles.
After such a busy year done and dusted Pete and his team look eagerly towards the future. With the Little Malop/ James Street area thriving with new business it looks to be an exciting time ahead for the venue.
“Really pumped for 2015. Lots happening in the street! More yummmy food coming, more great acts also. Can’t wait!”
