Piano Bar Geelong brings Laneway Jazz to Minns Place once again.
The last few weeks have been pretty amazing in regional Victoria. Life has returned to the city centres; restaurants have actual diners, bands are back on the stage, pubs are pouring beers, boot camps are running outdoors, retail stores are open, and beauty services are back in action.
One venue ensuring these good vibes keep flowing is Geelong’s famed Piano Bar, which are going above and beyond to showcase Geelong’s burgeoning music scene with the return of their beloved Sunday afternoon Jazz in the Laneway sessions.
Keep up with the latest in local news via our website.
Bringing the laneway back to life, the Piano Bar will be hosting music in their outdoor jazz-themed entertainment space, called ‘Laneway Jazz’ on Sundays. Guests are being entertained with a rotating schedule of free performances, offering local musicians another opportunity to return to the live stage.
Taking over the laneway in Minns Place (right outside their new Little Malop Street venue), patrons can order drinks and food at the bar inside while enjoying the outdoor entertainment from 2pm until 5pm. Entry for the Laneway Jazz events is completely free.
The first session kicks off this weekend on Sunday, November 28 with David Gardner on sax and clarinet, Cathy Cooke on vocals and Andy Pobjoy tickling the ivories.
This follows Piano Bars continued commitment to the Geelong music scene, hosting countless live steam performances throughout several rounds of restrictions. Delivering the unparalleled atmosphere that only a piano bar delivers direct to the home of viewers, the digital events featured all the things we love about our nights at Piano Bar – drags, magicians, piano performances, and a number of special guest artists.
It’s time to support locals, get around these absolute legends, and start singing at the top of your lungs to all those guilty pleasures.
No reservations are required, and entry is free. Visit the Facebook event for more information.
