Taking over the old Workers Club Geelong building on the corner, following their official closure announcement last week, Piano Bar’s return to the thriving street will include everything you know and love about Piano Bar – the singalongs, the requests, the drags queens, and the piano – only with more space, a bigger bar and just better suited to the vibrancy of their business.
The venue officially opened on Friday night, February 19 and will now host all future Piano Bar Geelong events.

Originally opening just a few doors down on Little Malop Street back in 2015, Piano Bar started their colossal life in Geelong as ‘Blue Note’, a NYC jazz club-inspired lounge offering a mix of food, wine and music – and of course a piano. With a maximum capacity of 50, an exuberant vibe, and a community that welcomed the venue with open arms, it wasn’t long before the venue needed a bigger space, making the move to Malop Street.

The move into a larger venue again speaks in volumes of the success of Piano Bar over the years, which has also seen the venue expand to Bendigo, Ballarat and Colac in recent years, as well as the recent pop-up in Werribee, at The Pelican Bar in Queenscliff and at the Geelong Race Course in recent times.

It’s time to support this new move, get around these absolute legends, and start singing at the top of your lungs to all those guilty pleasures.
