PSA: Vietnamese masters Pholklore have opened a third location in Lorne!
The Vietnamese favourites, who have already made their mark in Torquay and Geelong West for a collective seven years, won’t have any problems welcoming people in spades to the new hot spot in Lorne, an expansion that has settled in nicely on Mountjoy Parade.
Pholklore locations:
- Torquay – 38 The Esplanade
- Geelong – 238 Pakington Street, Geelong West
- Lorne – 82 Mountjoy Parade
Just in time too, the warmer weather sees the annual closure of Pholklore’s Geelong West location, giving staff a well-deserved break from 22 December to 19 January.
Thankfully, both the Torquay and brand-new Lorne locations will be open for lunch and dinner seven days a week throughout the summer season and they’re bringing you some new spritzers, a delicious apricot-pineapple daiquiri and an old favourite is making its way back on the menu…the cult classic lychee martini has returned.
Whether you’re craving a bowl of pho, a fresh banh mi, or one of their other signature cocktails, they’ve got you covered every day—except for 24 and 25 December, when they’ll be taking a short break for the holidays.
For now the Lorne location will be catering to dine-in pho lovers, but we’ve been told takeaway options will be available sometime after the summer rush ends.
The Lorne location has leant into the existing aesthetic with ease; sharing a setup style of open-air Vietnamese dining set among lush greenery and large tables designed for communal dining surrounded by colourful hanging lanterns with tassel tails. The new location was an easy one to dive into, with no need for the familiar Pholklore shipping containers and they’ve swapped out the Astroturf for beachside wooden flooring and their red stools for a pleasant light blue; making Pholklore a casual relaxing experience shared over the most delicious food.

Pholklore’s hearty pho bo is the piece de resistance of the menu whilst banh mi, rice paper rolls, spring rolls, bun bowls and divine pho fusion are the best in the business. They take the Vietnamese dining experience up a notch with their collection of cocktails.
The menu is made up of espresso old fashioned, blackcurrant vanilla sour, pineapple and apricot daiquiri, tiramisu espresso martinis and a range of margaritas. They also have a wide variety of beers and wines to indulge in.
Torquay and Lorne: Open 7 days for lunch and dinner (closed 24-25 Dec)
Geelong West: Closed from 22 Dec to 19 Jan, reopening 20 Jan 2025
