Breakthrough Australian singer and songwriter Peach PRC will take to the stage at Werribee’s Now & Again Festival this weekend.
In this day and age, it’s hard to find an artist in the music world who sits apart from the pack, doing something that doesn’t sound like anything else out there. But Peach PRC is one of the most important new performers in the industry, bringing original pop vibes and heartfelt lyrics onto the charts.
Recently, she dropped a brand-new track, ‘Perfect For You’, a track that references Paris Hilton’s 2006 track ‘Stars Are Blind’. Hilton recently referenced Peach’s track on social media, we caught up with Peach to chat about her feelings about it all.

“I’m so pumped”, Peach says. ‘The Paris Hilton interpolation went so well and that she’s been backing it so hard.”
“It’s been really sweet to see that. She’s been so supportive and listening to (Perfect For You) on her way to the Grammys was so surreal. It’s been like more than I could have ever hoped.”
Peach was recently announced as part of the Now and Again festival lineup, a festival set to grace the popular Werribee Racecourse, featuring some of the best rock, pop and electronic performers in the Australian music world.
While festivals often attract a different type of crowd, some artists change up the way they get prepped, but for an artist who has a strong back catalogue like Peach, things stay the same from solo to festival sets.
“It’s pretty much exactly the same as my own shows would be, once my EP is out, it’ll be more of the party stuff that I can do at festivals.
“So after adding my really sad song, which I think people really appreciate hearing still, but sometimes I feel bad when everybody is drunk and wants to party and I’m singing like the saddest song I’ve ever written,” Peach adds with a laugh.
Peach’s Now and Again set will bring a different type of energy to her music, she’ll be accompanied by some guitars.
“I have guitars. So we kind of like amp that up a bit and it kind of brings a bit more energy to it, but other than that, it’ll be pretty close to the record.”

While festivals are still somewhat of a newer feat for Peach, the sense of camaraderie and friendship among performers is exciting, and makes the Australian music industry a fun one to be a part of.
“A lot of my really good friends are also musicians and it’s really like exciting that we get put on the same festival.
“Because we all hang out and like, we watch each other’s stages if we’re not overlapping. It’s really fun.”
“With Now and Again, there’s going to be a lot of people that I’m really keen to see for the first time.”
When it comes to local festivals like Now and Again, there’s no question that there’s always something special in the air, audiences bring a different type of energy to the crowd, they’re in attendance to have fun.
For the performers on stage, there’s also a palpable energy, making local festivals one of the best things to play.
“I’ve only really just been doing festivals for the first time in the last kind of six months. It’s all really new for me.”
“It’s always different every time. I get to experience different connections to music. Everybody’s always so stoked to be there.”

If you haven’t come across Peach and her distinct sound, she notes what to expect when it comes to her set at Now and Again this weekend.
“A lot of pink, and I think they can expect just to have fun and party and then maybe cry a little bit in a couple of songs, but it should be fun.”
Peach will be performing alongside Casey Leaver, The Velvet Club, Tina Says, Becca Hatch, Running Touch, Torren Foot, Solardo, Crooked Colour, Sven Väth, Tones and I, Michael Bibi, Empire of The Sun and Gang of Youths at the Now and Again festival, taking place at the Werribee Racecourse this Saturday, February 18.
