Parkway Drive, Polaris and more announced for Kryal Castle’s new Knight and Day Festival in December

This will be one monumental weekend of metal, punk and rock music chaos.

A brand new festival is heading our way, with leading Australian promoter Destroy All Lines announcing a two-day metal, punk and rock festival, dubbed Knight and Day Festival, taking to the medieval Kryal Castle in Ballarat this December, and now we’ve finally been gifted the lineup to the glorious event. And it is everything.

Gracing the festivities, alongside previously announced acts Hellions and Windwaker, will be none other than the Lords of Australian metal, the crowned princes of Byron Bay Parkway Drive, set to unleash their first live performance in an age. These legends signed to Destroy All Lines and sadly haven’t been able to play a show all year, having just days ago cancelled their North American tour.

Joining Parkway on top of the lineup is Sydney’s purveyors of regal metalcore, Polaris who recently postponed their Aussie tour to the end of February. The band truly came into their own with the release of The Death Of Me in February last year, the follow up to their ARIA-nominated, Top 10 debut, The Mortal Coil (2018). Becoming an ARIA Nominated and #3 ARIA Album Chart debut record, the band, unfortunately, were unable to tour the album, due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.

The key takeaways

  • Knight and Day Festival has dropped its lineup for 2021
  • Taking over Ballarat’s Kryal Castle, the two-day festival will celebrate all things metal, punk and rock on December 30 and 31
  • Parkway Drive, Polaris, The Getaway Plan and more lead the lineup

Keep up with the latest festival news via our website.

Joining Hellions, Windwaker, Parkway Drive and Polaris is a smorgasbord of homegrown heroes, including the likes of the enchanting Alex Lahey, Bakers Eddy, the gluttonously devious The Chats, Clowns, Diamond Construct, Justice For The Damned, Make Them Suffer, Paperweight, Saviour, Terra, The Beautiful Monument and the honourable heroes of the scene The Getaway Plan who will be performing Other Voices, Other Rooms in its entirety.

The lineup is rounded out by The Gloom In The Corner, To The Grave, Trophy Eyes and Void Of Vision making this one helluva a festival.

Set to take place on December 30 and 31, the festival will be taking to the regional tourist attraction Kryal Castle in Ballarat (Australia’s only medieval adventure park has long been providing family fun for visitors since opening in 1974), but please note this is not a camping festival. There won’t be accommodation available on site but there are tonnes of local options available for booking here.

Once the thirst for live music has been quenched, ticket holders can frolic through the array of delights from the mesmerising maze, medieval performances, Dungeons, Torture Museums, Knights Towers, Secret Dragons Labyrinth to DJs and multiple acoustic stages.
