The Black Sorrows

+ SPECIAL GUESTS TBA

Join Joe Camilleri and The Black Sorrows for a very special night.

Joe Camilleri has been at the forefront of the Australian music scene for decades as the leader of Jo Jo Zep & The Falcons and The Black Sorrows, and as writer of radio anthems Hit & Run, Shape I’m In, Chained To The Wheel, Harley & Rose and Never Let Me Go. He is the consummate entertainer constantly honing his craft, an ARIA Hall of Famer and a rock’n’roll lifer. Joe fronts The Black Sorrows, one of Australia’s most prolific and enduringly popular bands, renowned for their high-energy live shows, musicianship and infectious, roots-soaked blues rock. They’ve sold more than two million albums to date and won an ARIA Award for Best Group.

The Black Sorrows are celebrating The Black Sorrows’ Live from The Shangri-La, an incredible live recording that captures that spark that defines The Black Sorrows.

In Joe’s words: “Live from The Shangri-La gives you a sense of how far the Sorrows have come, of how we’re always moving forward as a band. It’s never about the past. Although we are aways celebrating where we been, we are constantly finding a new and fresh pathway… for the beyond.”

The joy of live music, the excitement of watching great performers playing off each other and feeding off the room, and the thrill of never knowing what is coming next but knowing it will be incredible is what The Black Sorrows are all about. Do not miss your chance to see The Black Sorrows.

Queen Bohemian Rhapsody – The Greatest Hits Tour

Starring internationally acclaimed Freddie Mercury tribute artist, Thomas Crane, Bohemian Rhapsody are back on the road again in 2023, with their Queen – Greatest Hits Tour.

Queen is among the greatest rock bands of the 20th century and Freddie Mercury is hailed by many as the most charismatic and flamboyant performer in contemporary rock.

Now, after several sell-out tours, comes an all-new Queen tribute show from well-known Australian Freddie Mercury impersonator Thomas Crane and his band Bohemian Rhapsody.

Showcasing Queen hits from the 70s through to the 90s, Thomas and Bohemian Rhapsody bring back to life the visual excitement, theatrics, sound and stage energy as witnessed at a Queen concert.

From fabulous renditions of Queen’s greatest hits right through to Freddie’s trademark cheeky banter and singing contests with his audience, this show takes everything that made a Queen show unique and brings it back to life before your eyes and ears.

Queen, Bohemian Rhapsody will perform all the great hits like We Will Rock You, Crazy Little Thing Called Love, We Are The Champions, Radio Ga Ga, A Kind of Magic, I Want To Break Free, Another One Bites the Dust, and of course – Bohemian Rhapsody.

Steve-O – The Bucket List Tour

Every idea on Steve-O’s Bucket List was so ill-advised, he never expected to go through with any of them. Until it was time to prepare for this tour.

Not only are the stunts more ridiculous than what you already know Steve-O for, he did them all, and made a highly XXX-rated, multimedia comedy show out of them. Not for kids, or for the faint of heart.

Please note – This is an X-rated show and is strictly for ages 18+

Don McLean – 50th Anniversary Tour, Support from Andrew Farris (INXS)

Featuring support act Andrew Farriss (INXS)

Don McLean is one of the most iconic in popular culture, most recognised for his song, “American Pie’, a ballad about the deterioration of teenage culture in America and the loss of innocence which has been named by the Recording Industry Association of America as one of the top five songs of the 20th century.

One of the most revered and respected songwriters in American history, Don McLean has a string of mega-hits such as ‘Vincent’, ‘Castles In The Air’ and many more. His catalogue of songs has been recorded by Madonna, Garth Brooks, Josh Groban, Drake, Weird ‘Al’ Yankovic and countless others. In 2015, one of McLean’s four handwritten manuscripts of the lyrics to “American Pie” was auctioned by Christie’s, selling for just over $1.2 Million. McLean was honoured in 2019 receiving his star on the Las Vegas Walkway of Stars and his song “And I love You So” was the theme for Prince Harry and Megan Markle’s wedding.

In 2020, Don signed a recording contract with Time Life/Warner Bros. Records to release his catalogue of recordings as well as the much anticipated new album Still Playin’ Favorites’ His famous song, “American Pie” will be featured in the Avenger’s Black Widow and the Tom Hanks movie BIOS and much more to be announced. And when you think things are slowing down, not for Don who in 2021 marked the 50th anniversary of ‘American Pie’ with a world tour.

Dr. Sure’s Unusual Practice & Low Temperature Civics @ Tanswells

Dr Sure’s Unusual Practice is the moniker of Dougal Shaw, one of Australia’s more industrious creative heads (see also: founder of Marthouse Records, guitarist for Cash Savage & The Last Drinks, proprietor of Dr Sure Tattoo, new dad, et al). Declared a ‘mixtape’, Dr Sure’s new release BUBBLE consists of seven tracks recorded over the course of a 2-week period in 2020 before being unearthed and completed in late 2022.

Those familiar with Dr Sure’s will remember the 2020 twin EPs Scomo Goes To Hawaii and While Aus Burns. Musically BUBBLE exists in a similar solo/experimental space – led by synths and drum machines – as opposed to the band-driven post-punk of LPs The West (2019) and Remember The Future? Vol. 2 & 1 (2021).

The relative success of the latter saw the band touring broadly and selling out shows throughout so-called Australia in 2022; gained rotation and Album of The Week honours across community radio; prompted a nomination for Music Victoria’s Best Rock/Punk work; scored supports for the likes of Tropical Fuck Storm; and culminated in a 22-date tour throughout the UK and Europe.

BUBBLE will be released on cassette and DSPs on April 14 via Marthouse Records. To complement the release, the band are heading up the East Coast throughout April. Catch them in Beechworth with sterling support from Low Temperature Civics.

Tickets are $15 at the door or in advance: https://events.humanitix.com/dr-sures-low-temperature-civics-tanswells

This is about the most insane thing that’s ever happened to me – being sued for defamation. I am going to reveal to you for the first time the extraordinary lengths, the press, the legal system and the NSW coalition government conspired in order to protect one 50-year-old brat.
