Educational institution for the music, arts and acting, Oxygen College is opening their door to the next cohort of creatives. This weekend, on Saturday 14 September the Geelong campus on Gordon Avenue are welcoming prospective students to discover their extensive course offerings.
The Oxygen College Geelong Open Day will be held onsite at their state-of-the-art training facility between 10am and 1pm, allowing those interested in undertaking study in the creative arts in 2025 to explore the facilities, meet trainers and understand the courses on offer.

Split across part-time and full-time designations, the registered training organisation offers nationally accredited qualifications in Sound Production, Music Performance, Musical Theatre (newly introduced in 2024 in conjunction with Geelong Arts Centre), Visual Arts, Digital Content Creation and Photography. Full time courses cover Certificate IV, Diploma and Advanced Diploma level studies with a commitment of 3 days per week for 1 to 2 years, while the part-time commitment is flexible at 3 hours per week across a one year period. The part-time courses work towards the completion of a Certificate III or Certificate IV.

Sound Production
Commitment: Full-Time
Offering: Certificate IV in Screen and Media, Diploma of Music (Sound Production) and Advanced Diploma of Music (Sound Production)
A trio of qualifications are on offer through the Sound Production / Audio Professional Program at Oxygen College. By far one of the colleges most successful courses for industry-entry after course completion, these three courses are targeted at those wanting to play a hands-on role in the execution and production of live performances across audio, lighting and screen. From studio and recording training using industry standard sound desks to practically running the stage setup, sound and audio equipment operations and lighting operations are live events, this course is the perfect blend of theoretical and practical skill development, purposed for industry transitions.

Music Performance and Composition
Commitment: Full-Time
Offering: Certificate IV (with a specialisation in sound production), Diploma of Music (Performance) and Advanced Diploma (Creation and Composition)
Oxygen College is known for their focus on music industry with the Music Performance and Composition courses being their flagship program. Across three qualifications, students can immerse themselves in the music industry first-hand through building the foundations of an emerging musician. From songwriting to performance technique, recording skills and live performance opportunities, these courses prime musicians for the cut-throat, fast-paced music industry.

Musical Theatre

Offering: Diploma of Musical Theatre
A newly introduced course to the Oxygen College tuition guide, the Musical Theatre course aims to bridge a gap in the education and practical performance department. In partnership with the Geelong Arts Centre (GAC), students will hone their craft in world class facilities across various locations. This dynamic course offers the opportunity to learn skills and network within the musical theatre community, under the guidance of trained musical theatre experts. This course has been designed to allow students to grow in a safe and nurturing environment with the goal of transitioning straight into the professional musical theatre industry, or moving on to further study.

Visual Arts
Commitment: Part- Time
Offering: Certificate III / Certificate IV
If you have an eye for art, The Visual Arts course at the Geelong campus is a great introduction to the world. Certificate III is targeted at beginner level where students learn to produce paintings and drawings to an exhibition quality. During the course, students will learn to develop and refine drawing and painting techniques, think creatively and produce their own artworks ready to exhibit. Through a practical, hands-on approach, the program will give students confidence as an artist and sims to establish individual artistic style. Taking it to the next level the Certificate IV builds on the skills developed in Certificate III, pushing students to creatively explore diverse mediums and begin to develop meanings and concepts to develop their arts practice to a high standard.
