November Nocturnal Brings Lanks + Clypso To The Party

Nocturnal will usher in the end of exams and the beginning of warmer times with a delectable, dancey November instalment.
Taking over Melbourne Museum on Friday November 2, electropop force Lanks will be heading the fun. With two recent sold out Melbourne shows and brand new LP twentyseven under his belt, multi-instrumentalist, producer and songwriter Will Cuming will deliver one of this summer’s most inspired live shows.
He’ll be joined by alt r’n’b outfit Adult.Films, DJ Susan, and Clypso who will bring her jungle-infused troptronica, and glitchy afro-punk vibes.
You can also nourish your brain with talks themed around palaeontology between sets, with drinks and snacks and experiential elements throughout Melbourne Museum’s cavernous, spectacularly lit entrance hall.
Melbourne Museum’s famed palaeontology department will also be talkin’ fossils with ‘Transparent Fossils: using modern scanning technology to see inside fossils.’ Gemma Steele and Hayley Webster from the museum library will talk about the birth of Victorian palaeontology in ‘Sir Frederick McCoy: pioneering palaeontologist.’ Sir Frederick was also the museum’s first director, so the museum has had experts on this stuff for a very long time.
While you’re soaking up the vibes, take a turn around the Melbourne Story gallery and say g’day to Phar Lap. Converse amongst the overwhelming WILD gallery, or seek knowledge in the First Peoples gallery. For Country, for Nation will educate with art and objects about the contribution of Australian First Peoples military service.
Dancing. And dinosaurs. Do it. Tickets on sale now.
