A record filled with love, nostalgia and enlightenment, ‘Wiser’ was released back in May this year and stands as the Queensland artists fourth studio album and her first solo release in nearly four years.
With producer Shane Nicholson at the helm, the ARIA #1 album pairs Lyn’s arresting songwriting with her honey-coated heart-wrenching vocal deliveries. The 10-track album is rich and warm, carrying you through musings about love, loss, learning and looking forward to the future with a better understanding of the past.
“I’m really looking forward to sharing these songs with you. Those of you who have followed my career will know that I never do exactly the same thing twice and this collection of songs is no exception, so…expect the unexpected,” Lyn shares.
“I’ve named the Album ‘Wiser’, after a track that reflects the overall feeling of the songs. This album reflects where I’m at and where I’m headed… ‘Wiser, braver, stronger from now on’.”
With a class and style that would rival very few female vocalists across the country, Lyn first came to prominence as songwriter and singer for multi-award- winning country pop trio Bella, alongside Kate Ballantyne and Karen O’Shea.
Since then she has released critically acclaimed albums ‘Secret Songs’ in 2012, ‘Heart Of Sorrow’ in 2014 and EP ‘Calling You in 2017’, as well as Albums ‘Bennett, Bowtell & Urquhart’ in 2016 and ‘Weeds’ in 2018 with Supergroup Bennett, Bowtell & Urquhart… releases all brimming with the singer’s soulful vocals, highlighting the sublime voice that turned heads and four red chairs on national television in Channel Nine’s Season 6 of The Voice Australia.
A Toyota Star Maker winner, MO Award winner, a nine time Golden Guitar winner, 2022 Hands of Fame Inductee, and Artistic Director of the CMAA Academy of Country Music, Lyn Bowtell is an artist of sheer brilliance with a commanding stage presence that deserves to be seen by all.
