New Orleans Comes To Lt Malop Street

For those who may not know, today is Mardi Gras, or better known here as Pancake Tuesday. Mardi Gras originated in medieval Europe, however New Orleans has held extravagant street parades on Mardi Gras since 1830 and remains to this day one of, if not the greatest celebration to occur in the city.
This week Pistol Pete’s on Lt Malop Street will be holding its own Mardi Gras celebrations, all kicking off tonight. The shop has been all decked out and will continue to serve its famous N’Awlins favourites such as Gumbo, Jambalaya, Po-Boy, Pulled Pork Rolls, Fried Chicken as well as the other classics.
All guests this week will be treated to complementary colourful Mardi Gras beads to get you right into the mood and if you are lucky maybe even get a glimpse of the Mardi Gras Queen!
Music starts from 7pm tonight with Spider Jazz, Wednesday night will pump out all the New Orleans/ Louisiana classics. Thursday night will see Andy Pobjoy impress on the piano when he will then also perform on Friday night in the Who Dat? Duo. Finally on Saturday Gator Queen will play from 9.30pm capping off what will hopefully become an annual celebration for the area. Owner Pete Raimondo hopes to work closely with the other business owener in the area to help see this event recieve its full potential.
