Prepare for a Sunday Session of epic proportions with a bunch of Geelong rock legends.

Since the hey-day of the Geelong ’90s rock scene where you could see bands like Bored!, Cosmic Psychos, The Hard Ons in one week, the local scene has continued to see a swathe of acts and venues continue this legacy, gifting new music lovers the filthy raw Rock n Roll experience that is so uniquely Geelong.

A new champion of the Geelong rock and roll scene is laneway bar Medusa, which has opened in Geelong’s historic Rock O’Cashel Lane. Brought to you by the familiar faces behind Valhalla Brewing & Taproom, Medusa is earning quite the reputation for its divey flair, focusing on beers, vinyl DJs, movies nights and some unreal happy hour specials. Becoming quite a hub for local events, from lowercase poetry nights and Fem Punk Nights, the venue is also getting behind the local music scene, hosting regular musicians and a monthly Sunday Session.

Keep up with the latest music news, festivals, interviews and reviews here.

Curating in what is perhaps the most exciting Sunday session we’ve seen all year, Medusa are hosting a ‘Rock N’ Roll Fury’ event this weekend, on Sunday, October 2, featuring three incredible local rock bands.

Leading the lineup up is the newly formed supergroup Grytt, featuring members from lauded acts Bored, Warped and Spaghetti Westerns. With rock royalty at the helm of this band, you won’t want to miss their first-ever live show together.

Joining Grytt will be Geelong heavy riff groove trio Smoke Witch and Rock N Roll mates Sacramento Sweaters, promising big vibes on the intimate stage and ultimately, an unmissable arvo of Gtown rock.

Doors open at 4pm, with Grytt kicking things off at 4:30pm.
