Friday nights never looked so good.
Few things go hand-in-hand like local music and local eats, and after enduring a lot of time being able to enjoy either, Love Central Geelong has announced a new Friday night series, designed to inject some vibrancy back into our city.
Dubbed Friday Night Live, the series is celebrating Central Geelong’s newest park every Friday night in March and on Friday 1st April.
Stay up to date with what’s happening in and around the region here.
Live local musicians, hula hoopers, circus performers and fairies will perform each Friday night from 5pm – 8pm in block one of the Green Spine (Malop Street), adjacent to Johnstone Park.
Live musicians confirmed to perform include Victoriana Gaye Trio with acoustic guitar, electric guitar, trumpet and shared lead-harmony singing, Quinn EarthChild and the Roaming Woods who play an original alt-indie-folk session, Gypsy style 5 piece jazz band Hot Club Swing, and Los Locos band who will make you want to dance with their quirky Spanish Latin Music.
Perfect for catching up with friends and family, attendees can bring along a picnic rug or kick back on casual furniture and celebrate the end of the week with your favourite takeaway or pop into a local bar or eatery in Central Geelong.
Premier venue Frankie on Malop Street is also offering takeaway deals to coincide with the free live music and entertainment. Renowned as the perfect spot to grab an after-work cocktail with your pals, Frankie boasts a menu complete with cocktails to die for, as well as delicious pan-Asian inspired food sure to complete any after-work cocktail sesh so you can bet you’ll be well taken care of.
The series will kick off this Friday, March 11 (after having to be postponed last week due to wet weather), and run right through to the end of the month.
