Australian music legend Paul Kelly and Australia’s soul queen Emma Donovan welcomed a range of special guests to the official Music Market opening with a live music acoustic performance of Ruby Hunter’s song, Down City Streets. Paul Kelly highlighted that “Melbourne has always been a big music town. It’s taken some knocks recently but is amazingly resilient in myriad ways. Music Market is going to be a vital reason it continues to flourish.”

The Music Market has even been given the tick of approval from Archie Roach AM, who says “It’s a great concept to have a Music Market that supports everybody that’s involved with music. I am so proud to have Emma Donovan and Paul Kelly sing Ruby Hunter’s song, Down City Streets as part of the opening. Emma’s interpretation of Ruby’s songs has always been really amazing and having Paul  singing it with Emma recognises his role of a producer of my first album Charcoal Lane where Ruby’s song was  one of the tracks.”
