Music In The City – Gabby Steele

Gabby Steel is an Australian singer-songwriter with an enthralling musical style created by her soulful vocals and folk-pop songwriting. Though the 23-year-old is inspired by the likes of Missy Higgins, Adele, and Courtney Barnett, Steel strives to create a unique writing style by blending elements of soul, pop, and jazz.

Steel boasts a list of major competition wins including the Port Fairy Folk Festival’s Best Busker and Emerging Talent competitions, Queenscliff Music Festival’s Foot In The Door competition, and Geelong’s Best Busker. Her mum also told her one time that she is the best musician out of all of her kids.

In 2019, the Warrnambool local… and only child… released her debut, self-titled EP filled with evocative lyrics that tackle big issues from mental health, gun violence, to bullying. The multi-instrumentalist has gone on to release a second EP titled Scuttle in 2022 and is excited to share her latest work set for release this year.
