Mount Duneed coffee spot Cups Canteen is hosting an event dedicated to dachshunds this weekend

Daschunds & coffee—now here's a combo we can get behind.

Dachshund. Dachsie. Wiener-Dog. Whatever you want to call ’em, we know you love ’em.

Whether it’s because of a Dachshunds’ affable personality and high energy, their small, portable size or their downright adorable appearance, these long, lovable pooches are quite the little charmers – so much so they have an entire day dedicated to them. International Dachshund Day.

And where better to celebrate than Cups Canteen – one of the trendiest and most welcoming coffee stops to grace our region, thanks to Geelong’s Craig and Steph Willian.

Since opening in 2020, this gorgeous coffee caravan/trailer stop has quickly become Mount Duneed’s most wholesome purveyors of damn fine cups of coffee, parked daily (except Mondays and Tuesdays) at the corner of Boundary Road and Sovereign Drive. With delicious coffee, food and baked treats, one visit here and Craig will not just remember your name and coffee order, but will provide some of the warmest and authentic conversations you’ve had all week.

In celebration of the day for Dachshunds, Cups Canteen will be hosting their very first event with ‘Dachs of Milk’.

Taking place on Sunday June 19 from 9:30am, this event is for anyone that owns a dachsy or just love them from afar. The team at Darb’s Doggy Delights will be on site with a fun market stall packed with wonderful doggy treats, while Happy Hippos Creative will be there taking professional photos of all the pretty perfect pups (complimentary with a coffee or doggy treat purchase). Cups Canteen will of course be doing what they do best by making delicious coffee and food to match.

Best part: you get to sip on delicious coffee surrounded by frolicking dogs in what is sure to be one of the biggest Dachsy (and human) meetups of the year.
