Missing your weekly dose of Luke Biscan on the mic? You can see him on The Voice tonight

Luke Biscan. In Geelong and surrounds, it’s a name well-known to anyone who loves live music – and for good reason.

A regular on the touring and festival circuit in coastal Victoria, the UK born singer-songwriter has a voice that easily spans genres of alternative, acoustic rock, folk and soft rock, and his incredible live energy and virtuoso guitar skills have built him a solid hometown fanbase (us included). Forever evolving and reshaping, Luke released his long-awaited debut album, Revivalist, back in 2018 which delved into his childhood, religion, faith, hope and belief, highlighting his masterful storytelling ability.

While we haven’t been able to head to Beavs Bar for Luke’s weekly gigs, the much-loved Geelong muso’s star status has been steadily on the rise, having recently released his latest single ‘Nothing To Do With Us’ and auditioned for Australian singing competition, The Voice.

Now in its ninth season, the series debuted on Sunday night May 24 on with the blind auditions, which saw a pool of talent take to the stage to win over this year’s judges – Delta Goodrem, Boy George, Kelly Rowland or Guy Sebastian, with hopes to collect a deal with EMI Music Australia and $100,000 in prize money.

Touted as ‘its biggest, boldest and most controversial season yet’, the season will feature an international winner of the format, a former winner of Australian Idol, and the youngest ever audition. New innovations will also be seen on The Voice in 2020, including ‘the Block’ which will allow each coach allowed two chances to deny the other coaches a chance to pitch during the Blind Auditions and the introductions of two new rounds – The Playoffs and Showdowns.

Luke will join fellow Geelong resident Stellar Perry who managed to turn all four judges chairs on Sunday night with her performance Lady Gaga’s emotional hit song, ‘Always Remember Us This Way’, bringing coach Kelly Rowland to tears and landing her on Team Delta.

You can witness Luke’s segment on Tuesday night on Nine and 9Now, and while we have no idea what the outcome will be, hearing Luke sing again is just what we needed to fill that local, live music void – for now.

In the meantime, check out Luke’s new single below.
