The all-conquering Courtney Barnett will hit the road with her Milk! Records label mates for a March Madness tour. Hey, did you know that in 2001 a pair of psychologists from the University of Leicester conducted a study whereby they found that slow music played on a large dairy farm increased milk production by three per cent?
Songs including Simon and Garfunkel’s ‘Bridge over Troubled Water’, Lou Reed’s ‘Perfect Day’ and R.E.M.’s ‘Everybody Hurts’ seemed to work well. Anyway, I think it is best we mooove on. Milk! Records is a lovely little independent label where you can buy direct from the artist. Really, it is as close as you can get to rocking up to their home.
Jen Cloher is a cofounder, while the crew includes Fraser A. Gorman, Ouch My Face, East Brunswick All Girls Choir and The Finks. They enjoy long walks on the beach and curating special events, compilations, collaborations, split 7” vinyl releases and artist designed tshirts. Good for You is one such compilation.
