The past year has been nothing short of explosive for Mia Wray. Her breakout hit ‘Monster Brain’ made waves worldwide, earning a special spin on Elton John’s Apple Music radio show ‘Rocket Hour.’ The track also garnered multiple plays on BBC Radio 1 and Amazing Radio, eventually trending on Shazam UK. Domestically, ‘Monster Brain’ climbed to the #9 spot on the national Top 200 Shazam Charts, thanks to extensive airplay on stations like triple j, Nova, KIIS, HIT Network, and more. Mia’s music has accumulated millions of streams across the globe, and her talents took her to the stage at Splendour in the Grass, where she supported the acclaimed pop artist Maisie Peters during her European tour.
Mia’s latest offering, ‘Tell Her,’ produced in collaboration with industry heavyweights Ash Howes (known for work with One Direction, Kylie Minogue, and Ellie Goulding) and Seton Daunt (notable for contributions to Yungblud and 5 Seconds of Summer), unfolds like a personal diary entry. Written during Mia’s last UK writing trip, this song provides a playful glimpse into Mia’s transatlantic daydream.
Mia explains the inspiration behind ‘Tell Her’: “It’s crazy how the course of life can change so quickly. Last year I moved into a new house with my long-term boyfriend. I always thought we’d end up getting married. In the space of two weeks, boxes still unpacked, by random chance I met a girl. I finished some shows in Australia and caught a flight to London to do a writing trip. The whole flight over I couldn’t stop thinking about her. It was scary and exciting. ‘Tell Her’ was written just days after landing in London.”
Mia Wray’s distinctive style blends captivating pop melodies with thought-provoking lyrics, and ‘Tell Her’ is yet another example of her remarkable talent. It’s clear that we’ve only scratched the surface of what Mia Wray has to offer.
