Mercy, Geelong’s lively shipping-container café, is running a burger and booze night every Friday

Undoubtedly one of the best new businesses to come out of 2021, Mercy Cafe is the gift that keeps on giving.

Ran by local Benjamin Waters, this friendly little shipping container cafe at Eastern Park in Geelong has all the ingredients of a stellar cafe, their coffee is always on point, a delicious menu, and an all-star team always making you feel right at home. The light, open-air space with beautiful views of the golf course is always brimming with hungry punters sitting down to brunch options with a cup of coffee in tow.

Well and truly a prime spot for many to park up for a couple of hours, Waters has given us another reason to dote on this cafe with Mercy’s Burger and Booze nights.

Keep up with the latest food and booze news via our website.

Running every Friday night from 5pm until late in collaboration with the East Geelong Golf Club, these nights are perfect for winding down after a long week and wrapping your hands around a delicious burger surrounded by your best mates and a sensational friendly atmosphere.

With plenty of space both inside and outdoors, the burgers live up to the standard of food Waters has been serving up since opening Mercy back in July.

Choose from the classic burger, the double beef and cheese, the fried chicken sandwich or the eggplant burger, all for just $12-$15. You can add fries to any burger, as well as order starters like olives, pretzels, mixed nuts, street corn, corn chips with guac, popcorn cauliflower and popcorn chicken!

If the kids are coming, there’s a dedicated menu for them too with kid-sized burgers, fish and chips and chicken and chips.

As for the booze, you’ll find a tidy selection of some damn fine cocktails, including Aperol Spritz, Fancy Gin, Cosmo, Margarita, Dark and Stormy, Whiskey Smash and the Pickleback, all for just $12 (Aperol Spritz is $10) – sone of the cheapest cocktails you’ll find on a Friday night in Geelong.

You’ll also find a revolving selection of Blackman’s Brewery beers on tap, as well as bottled beer, cider, wine and some non-alcoholic options.

Once more, if we would sum this new little venture up in one sentence, it would be simple stuff done right – and honestly, what more could you want.
