Meg Mac is heading to Geelong

Meg Mac has today confirmed her first Australian live dates of 2019, with the announcement of the Give Me My Name Back national tour, presented by triple j.
The tour kicks off in Sydney at the Enmore Theatre on April 6, before heading to Coffs Harbour, Brisbane, Gold Coast, Geelong, Melbourne, Canberra, Wollongong, Newcastle, and Cairns before winding up in Hobart on May 23.
“I can’t wait to take this new show around the country,” she said today. “Singing live is the most enjoyable thing I do. I’ll be playing songs from my new record as well as the songs you know from my first EP and the ‘Low Blows’ album. It’s going to be a powerful new show, so I really hope you can join me on the tour.’
Give Me My Name Back, the first track taken from Meg Mac’s forthcoming new album, is a compelling, rallying cry about reclaiming identity, dignity and self-worth. She explains, “This song is about standing up for yourself. It’s for everyone who has lost an important part of themselves, which they need to reclaim in order to move forward with their lives.”
Meg Mac’s ‘Low Blows’ album debuted at No. 2 on the ARIA Album Chart on release last year. Her debut EP ‘Meg Mac’ has sold in excess of Platinum, and is now available on vinyl, including bonus track, the anthemic ‘Never Be’. Its lead single ‘Roll Up Your Sleeves’ has clocked up almost 20 million plays on Spotify.

London’s Evening Standard recently declared Meg Mac “one of the rising stars on our radar right now.” Ahead of her Australian tour, Meg Mac will tour the US, UK and Europe to promote her forthcoming set of new recordings.
She’ll hit up Geelong’s The Wool Exchange on May 3.
