Meet The Melbourne Songwriter Who Just Won Triple J Unearthed High

Gretta Ray writes better songs at 18 than you’ve written in your entire twenties, and people are starting to take notice.

Building a name for herself for her twisting lyricism and stunning voice, Gretta Ray has played alongside some of Melbourne’s finest singer/songwriters as well as self-releasing her own EP. Her latest track, Drive, was co-produced with Nashville-based Aussie Josh Barber (Gotye, Archie Roach) and renowned composer Jonathan Dreyfus.

Ray took out the top spot from over 1,000 entries. After finishing Year 12, she’ll be heading to Nashville to finish her debut album. As part of her prize, she’ll also be flown out to professionally record a song and receive mentoring from Meg Mac.

Congrats Gretta Ray. You’re a bloody legend.
