Meet Miss Buzz, the mobile espresso bar popping up on the Bellarine

Miss Buzz is a mobile espresso bar created by a local entrepreneur.

Miss Buzz the work of Casey Hurst, the brains, the boss babe and the beauty behind Miss Fizz, Geelong’s first mobile bar dedicated entirely to Prosecco.

Spawned from a lifelong passion for hospitality and later a dream to open a bar, Casey started bringing her vision to life when she made the move home from Brisbane, bringing ‘Miss Fizz’ to life back in March last year.

Giving locals a fun, new way to enjoy our favourite bubbly, the super cute, fully licensed 8-foot pink trailer was frequently spotted at weddings, bridal showers, soirées and gatherings around Bellarine Peninsula, Geelong and surrounds. Casey and her team would serve local ‘6Ft6’, which is vegan, and ‘Cat out of the bag’ prosecco, personalised ‘His and Hers’ Bellini’s and a whole menu dedicated to the Spritz – alongside a few delicious cocktails. Casey has found her niche and the region, locals were loving it, and right up until March this year, demand for the small business was at an all-time high.

Unfortunately, like many others, the Casey’s business came to a screeching halt earlier this year when the world was told to change the way we interact as human beings in society under the strict Government social-distancing requirements to help flatten the coronavirus curve, with social distancing and isolation key in helping to reduce further spread of the virus.

No longer able to service events with a glass of bubbly or an expertly-crafted cocktail, Casey has had to adapt to survive, transforming her mobile prosecco bar into a mobile espresso bar, Miss Buzz, which officially launched to the public in July.

“We really missed being in the van and saw this as a great pivot and a new challenge,” Casey explains. “It’s been a great first year in business with plenty of lessons learnt along the way. We are still learning and growing and now know who our target market is and what works for us and the direction we are wanting to head to.

While the second wave forced her closure once again, Casey has reopened Miss Buzz with a lot more spark and a slew of new offerings.

Setting up in the Portarlington Industrial hub of Rajah Court (right across the road from Portarlington Fitness), you’ll find Miss Buzz and their bright pink lightning bolt branding slinging St Ali Coffee, La Madre pastries, delicious toasties, black and herbal tees, hot choccies, sweet treats and healthy snacks. You can even buy Brookie’s Gin hand and surface sanitiser and keep cups!

As the newest and prettiest coffee stop to grace our region, Miss Buzz is created on the conviction that we need, more than ever, locals who support locals, regularly offering specials to her loyal following.

While Casey will be meticulously providing locals and tourists alike with consistently smooth and eco-friendly coffee for the time being, prosecco devotees need not worry as this isn’t the end for Miss Fizz.

“Miss Fizz is still our main business and we can’t wait to be able to travel to events and weddings real soon,” Casey reveals. “We are actually looking forward to being able to offer coffee as an add-on option for corporate events and weddings. Bring on the Espresso Martini’s!”

We’re always up for an espresso martini, but first, coffee!
