The punk supergroup which currently consist of Spike Slawson of Swingin’ Utters and Re-Volts fame, CJ Ramone of punk heroes Ramones, Joey Cape of Lagwagon, Jake Kiley of Strung Out and has included a rotating door of members of Foo Fighters, NOFX and more, are one of the most infectious live acts of our time. Their no-off-limit approach to covers including the most recent ‘Dancing Queen’ opens them to diverse audiences and brings the party wherever they go. That pairs with their incredible costume outfits makes for a brilliantly fun time.

Just look to their latest album recording live from Madison, which Spike comments is a strong indicator of what to expect, “I would like this to be considered indicative of what a live show by the Gimme Gimmes can be. The only difference is that there would be people that wanted to come and see us. What happened at this show, to me, is better than unfettered, unconditional applause from a lot of people. Golf-claps from about five people is how I want to hear a live record.”

Joining the Gimmes are the self proclaimed ‘last punk band’ Dwarves who have been kicking their unique blend of punk, garage, thrash and experimental music around for 40 years if you can believe that.

Tickets to the wild time of Me First and the Gimme Gimmes go on sale Thursday 18 July from 12pm. Get them here.
