Mardi Gras Celebrations at Pistol Pete’s

When it comes to top-notch Southern American food in Geelong, Pistol Pete’s offering of jumbo, fried chicken, sloppy pulled pork burgers and PoBoys instantly spring to mind. So naturally, if there’s someone to throw a traditional Mardi Gras celebration; it’s Pete.

Mardi Gras, or “Fat Tuesday” as it’s also known, came to be as the last night to eat fattier, heavier foods before fasting for Lenten season. The celebration is known for its loud music, costumes, decorations and general debauchery. At Pistol Pete’s you’ll get a taste for tasty Cajun and Creole food, Abita beer and live music across four days with N’Awlins Jazz Trio (Thursday 4th), Jules Boult & the Redeemers (Friday 5th), The Hog Stompin’ Zydegators (Saturday 6th) and on the official Fat Tuesday, Peter Hooper & Spider Jazz (Tuesday 9th).

There’ll be giveaways across the few days, but most importantly you’ll have a fun time in the recently extended and renovated space (more room for dancing). Pistol Pete’s is located at 93 Little Malop Street in Geelong.
