Mao’s Last Dancer the Exhibition: A Portrait of Li Cunxin

Immigration Museum’s newest exhibition is beautiful and moving, opening on June 15, Mao’s Last Dancer the Exhibition: A Portrait of Li Cunxin. Known for his phenomenal talent, and his extraordinary story told through his autobiography and award-winning feature film.
This exhibition will be exploring the incredible life of Li Cunxin and will be including never before seen footage, original costumes, awards, and personal items shared by Li from his own archives.
Experienced all together, these personal items paint an intimate and inspirational picture. Li’s story is an unbelievable one, full of fortune, grit, bravery and beauty.
Included will be an exclusive interview with Li’s parents, costumes from the Houston Ballet’s 1990 production of Romeo & Juliet, and a series of kites, handmade by Li for the exhibition.
Opening just in time to coincide with this year’s stunning winter ballet programming, this exhibition will have a giant appeal across fans of dance, theatre, Chinese culture, and importantly, inspiring human stories.
