For the last few years, Geelong Waterfront Film has been working to encourage filmmakers across Australia and beyond to embrace Victoria’s beautiful and diverse natural and built environments.

‘Barwon Mansion’ is a locally-made film by writer and director Mia de Rauch, who is also the Director of Flipswitch Media – video production and video marketing strategy specialists. Telling stories in a visual way is what Mia does best and ‘Barwon Mansion’ stays true to this.

The film tells the story of Claire, who has found the strength to leave her unsafe environment and now needs a home that will take her through her journey of trauma. Barwon Mansion is that place. A place that calls to the people who need its protection most – for as long as they need to be safe within its walls.

“Barwon Mansion” is a short film that follows the story of Claire as she recovers from her emotionally scarring relationship at the house of care.

The film screening will be followed by a panel discussion with Writer/Director Mia de Rauch, cinematographer/director of photography Pete James and actor Clare Hayes. Prior to the screening, canapes will be served and the Red Carpet will be rolled out.

Barwon Mansion premieres on September 15 at Pivotonian Cinema, Geelong. Purchase tickets here
