Sober Ramen's huge, tasty soups are unlike anything else in the region, and now they're expanding to Torquay.
One of the most intimate dining experiences in town, Sober Ramen is one of our favourite spots to go for a dose of ramen, dumplings and sake in Geelong!
Sitting pretty, right in the heart of Little Malop Street, this quaint venue has become the heavyweight champion of delicious and authentic ramen since its opening back in 2017 by Alex Pan (of Sumi), and Nathan Johnston, who also operates Cartel Coffee Roasters on the same street.
Gifted an opportunity to become part of the Victorian surf coast, with its stunning landscapes (particularly windswept beaches), superlative restaurants and sun-kissed towns, the Japanese restaurant has revealed it will be opening a second location in Torquay.

Taking over the space at 1/32 Bell Street, previously occupied by Miami, a restaurant/hidden oasis boasting baby pink, palm fronds and rattan light fixtures, Sober Ramen’s Torquay presence will be a fitting addition to the bustling Surf Coast town coming into summer.
Bringing the same menu to the Coast, you’ll find a bunch of delicious starters including Edamame, prawn and chicken dumplings, spicy calamari, and their signature beef Tataki, plus a bunch of different ramen options for those that like to slurp! There’s the Yasai Udon, the Dandanmen, or our personal favourite, the Spicy dumplings ramen which combines the best of both worlds. There’s also ramen plates, Wagyu Don, and a bunch of vegetarian options too.
Pair your food with a pint of frosty beer or knock back some sake for the entire Sober Ramen experience.
