Up to 2500 Christmas food boxes have been donated to Geelong families in need.
Local businesses have come together to spread some holiday cheer this December, providing 2500 food boxes to families in need around Geelong during the festive season.
Geelong local Jess Munday, along with fellow business owner Aubrey Vasquez have gathered a group of local businesses to raise over $37,000 for Christmas Box, a charity that provides food hampers with more than 20 high quality food products with the retail value of over $90.

Each year, Christmas Box distributes boxes of essential food items to local families, ensuring they can enjoy a meal and some holiday cheer during what is often a challenging time.
This year, the charity is set to provide 2500 food boxes to families in need around Geelong. On 28 November, the Geelong partners Kardinia Church hosted volunteers to pack the boxes for Geelong families at Geelong Showgrounds which saw a visit from the mayor.
The day saw contribution from local businesses Better Beer, Knockout Brows, Derham Transport, Body Recon, Matthew Le Maitre, Tribal Group, Precimax Plastics, Nexus Civil, TVD Group, Geelong Concrete Pumping, Home Instead, Cabinets by Computer, Nelson Property Transfer Services, Miss Money Penny, Mann Legal, Jagcor Concrete Pumping, TR CONCRETE CONSTRUCTION INC and MISSTA LIMITED.

“We’ve volunteered in the past to hand out boxes at Northside Salvation Army with our team and seen firsthand just how much this support means to these families,” Munday said.
“Their gratitude is overwhelming, and it’s a powerful reminder of the importance of programs like this, particularly during the holidays.
“We are thrilled with the $30,000 raised for this year’s Christmas Box initiative and feel this is the type of charity that Geelong Businesses are keen to get involved in, especially around Christmas Time.
“We are wanting to go bigger and better next year in raising more donations.
“The Geelong community has such a remarkable way of rallying together, and we want to keep that spirit alive this holiday season.”
