As well as dishing up delicious coffee and home made sweets, the Chapel on Little Ryrie cafe also puts a focus on giving emerging and young musicians the chance to perform in front of a large crowd.
Live at the Chapel will be held over three nights and allows local school musicians to take to the “stage” in a unique performance space. The venue have previously hosted the event before, and has been a great success – both for the venue and building the confidence in the young musicians.
This year’s event will start on June 3 with Belmont High School students taking to the stage, their performance will be followed on June 9 with Kardinia College and lastly with Matthew Finders High School on June 24.
During the winter months it’s the perfect chance to head outside, have some wine, a nice meal and get a snippet into what the future of the Geelong music scene is set to look like. The kitchen will be open until 9pm and drinks are available at bar prices throughout the night.
The venue itself is known for hosting live music nights throughout the year, though this one is surely a point of difference where attendance means something completely different for the musicians involved.
