Coca Cola has officially announced that they are discontinuing Lift.
It’s a sad time for Aussie fans of lemon-flavoured soft drinks, myself included, with the news that Coca Cola have axed Lift, a refreshingly delicious lemon-flavoured fizzy drink.
A staple of the Aussie market since the 1970s, Lift will be phased out in Australia by the end of September 2022, becoming permanently removed from supermarket shelves and replaced by a caffeine-infused alternative.

‘Ready-to-drink formats of Lift will be phased out of stores by the end of September 2022, except for Glass 330mL which will be phased out by the end of 2022,’ a Coca Cola spokesperson said.
The drink has been replaced with Sprite Lemon+, but reports claim that the drink does not have the same flavour as Lift.
‘After listening to our customers, our focus is on our new Sprite Lemon+ range, which we believe will be popular with our existing Lift drinkers,’ the spokesperson added.
Sprite Lemon+ also contains caffeine, a stimulant that wasn’t found in Lift.

Rumours originally starting circulating earlier this year that the beloved lemon softie was getting the flick, with the news confirmed only today.
However, the post-mix variety – a syrup-based concentrate used in restaurants – isn’t being axed just yet.
Grim.
