Support local business and level up your iso weekend with these takeaway cocktails

It's beginning to look a lot like cocktails.

Just because we’re back within the confines of our houses doesn’t mean we can’t get a bit loose on a Saturday night, and these local businesses slinging takeaway cocktails in lockdown are here to make sure of it.

Here’s where you can find some goodies in town:

Wah Bah

These guys were quick to pick up on the allure of takeaway cocktails, slinging these babies since the first lockdown.

So far, there are six creations on the menu alongside some rotating specials. For $15 each, you can indulge in the Espresso Quarantini (with Manuka honey vodka, Licor 43, Little Dripper & Coffee liquor), the Licor 43 Sour, the Strawberries & Cream, or their famous Tokyo Moon made with Blue caracao, Pavan & Apple juice. There’s also a Garden Mojito made with Raspberry Gin AND the Great Ocean Berry complete with Raspberry Gin, Strawberry liquor, lemon juice & fresh strawberries.

Our pick is the Strawberries & Cream. Dubbed the liquid version of Nikki Webster’s Strawberry Kisses with a blend of Strawberry Liquor, White Chocolate Mozart, Coconut Milk & lime, this cocktail in hand and you’ll be singing about Strawberry Kisses all night long.

And each cocktail is equivalent to two standard drinks so that in itself is a big win.

Available via UberEats, Delivero & pickup phone orders.

Frankie

Since opening back in 2017, Frankie has become Geelong’s premier cocktail and wine bar, function venue and pan-Asian restaurant and is one of the best spots to go when you’re looking to impress or just have a high-quality dining experience any night of the week.

Alongside the blissful atmosphere and outstanding food menu, Frankie is renowned around town for its killer drink’s menu, featuring wines from local and state wineries, and gorgeously garnished exotic cocktails, courtesy of the award-winning staff. Lucky for us, they’re doing cocktails takeaway and we are THRILLED.

Standout cocktail concoctions that you just HAVE to try include the Clover Club (usually made with Bombay Sapphire Gin, Lemon Juice, Raspberry Syrup, Aquafaba), the Cosmo (42 Below Vodka, Lime Juice, Cointreau, Cranberry Juice), Expresso Martini (Vodka, Fresh Expresso, Crème de café, Baileys Irish Crème) and the Bees Knees (Bombay Sapphire Gin, Lemon Juice, Honey Syrup).

We sometimes come here just for the cocktails – they’re that good.

Give them a call to pre-order tonight’s dinner and drinks on 52231228. You can find Frankie at 9-11 Little Malop Street, Geelong.

The Whiskery

Located in Drysdale, The Whiskery is one of the best rustic spaces to have a cocktail, gin or whisky any day of the week.

Thankfully we’ve just got word that the clever team are also doing their bit to make your iso nights fun and flavoursome with their takeaway cocktails matched to their famous gins.

On their dedicated takeaway menu, you’ll find the Teddy Bear Picnic, Sea Senorita, Trooper Negroni, Kissed by Fire and the Roo Cold Brew. Each cocktail mix comes with a bottle of required gin and makes up to three cocktails. All you need to do is add the gin and you’re laughing.

Available for Friday and Saturday deliveries, or pick up from the cellar door Thursday-Saturday.

The Whiskery is located at 2 Scotchmans Rd, Drysdale. Purchase your cocktails here.

Recess Bar + Eats

Recess is Central Geelong’s only Gluten-Free Restaurant offering you a space to run around, have a snack, play with friends and make new ones! While their food is A+, it’s also one of our favourite places to go for a cocktail night all year-round, and luckily, they’re doing takeaway while we’re all in lockdown.

Served in gorgeous potion bottles, there are four delicious options for $15 each. There’s Amaretto Sour, Espresso Martini (made with Vodka, chocolate liqueur, coffee liqueur and espresso), French Kiss and the Pucker Up Baby (made with Gin, elderflower, Aperol, cucumber and lemon).

Yummo.

Grab these beauties takeaway with dinner, pick-up + local delivery available. Recess is located at 247 Moorabool Street, Geelong.

ALMA

Geelong really scored big when chef Jesse Hughes (formerly Vue Grand Queenscliff) opened up ALMA, a contemporary South American shared-style restaurant back in 2017. In what was Hughes’ first venture, ALMA has become one of Geelong’s best dining destinations, earning a solid reputation for their South American flavours featuring the best produce served in an unadulterated way, edgy styling and exceptional service.

Thankfully you can still get your Alma fix throughout lockdown, and even indulge in some delicious takeaway cocktails too. For $15, you can choose from the Pisco Sour, the Pomegranate Sour, or the Espresso Martini.

Felix

While we’re on the subject of ALMA, Felix is the sister restaurant that radiates just as much elegance as ALMA in its own inimitable way.

Thankfully they’re giving locals in lockdown the chance to indulge with their takeaway cocktails.

For $18, you can get a takeaway Negroni (Martin Millers Original Gin, Carpano Antica & Campari), Martini (Martin Millers Original Gin, Dolin white vermouth & a dash of magic), a Chancellor (Whiskey, Muscat and Lemon) or a Thyme Gimlet (Martin Miilers Original Gin, lime, thyme).

The Cocktail Cart

Founded by Geelong born and bred Alistair Bullock, The Cocktail Cart is the next best thing to having a live-in bartender, curating DIY cocktail kits with all of the ingredients to make recipes, developed by Alistair himself.

The hero to your future boozy brunches and Saturday nights in, you can currently order the classics like the Cosmopolitan or Espresso Martini, and new drinks like the Ginger Yuzu and Spice It Up.

Designed to serve six people, each box comes with Australian ingredients required to make your chosen cocktail. You’ll find alcohol and liqueur, sugar syrups, fruit, mixers, cold brew coffee (for espresso martini), garnishes, a 15/30ml Japanese jigger and, of course, a recipe card.

All you’ll need are things like cocktail shakers, strainers, glasses, ice, and a citrus juicer to expertly create your cocktails.
