Leura Park Estate is hosting a comedy night with local performers

Teaming up with What’s the Joke, Leura Park Estate proudly present Regional Funnies.

Over the last six months, binge-watching content online has evolved from a popular pastime to an obligatory practice in staying sane while confined to our four walls and socially distanced from all our favourite humans. While streaming services like Netflix, Stan and Binge have been great to fill the void, it’s been both inspiring (and refreshing) to see the local community also doing their bit to take their events online to share some joy as we continue to adjust to our current lives in isolation.

As great as the online performances have been, it’s time to let a laugh loose without that classic Zoom lag we’ve all gotten so use to as we all crawl back to some form of ‘normal’.

Leura Park Estate, one of our favourite wineries in the region, has teamed up with What’s The Joke to present ‘Regional Funnies’. Putting the spotlight on our local comedic talent, the event will see three of our region’s best comedians take to the stage for a night of quality stand-up comedy.

The event will see performances from Melbourne-via-Geelong comedian Ellen Mahoney who is known for giving her audiences a refreshing glimpse at life as a modern, single (slightly desperate) gal; Jan Juc comedian Tess Birch, the first ever lawyer to become a comedian; and Queensland (now Victorian) comedian Alex Keen who came third in Melbourne International Comedy festivals “Comedy out west” competition, has won Bayside’s Got Talent and has shared the Stage with Tommy Little and Joel Creasy.

These talented performers will deliver the laughs on Saturday November 14 and Sunday November 15 at the winery.

Running from 7:30pm to 9:30pm, tickets are just $20 per person, while food, beer, wine and cider will be available at bar prices on the night. The event will be hosted in Leura Park Estate’s outdoor area, so be sure to rug up.

The Saturday session has sold out but you can book your tickets for Sunday here.

Please note, entry is with regional ID only.
