Let the Music Flow

Did you know that Australians love live music? You read it here first, buckaroos. So let’s share in the inaugural Aus Music Festival – Warrnambool together. Go on, tell that person sitting across from you on the train. Share it with your favourite barista. Focusing on music and songs “made and played in Australia”, Aus Music Festival – Warrnambool will feature a series of ticketed concerts featuring local and visiting performers. Events include a back-to-back special at The Loft, featuring The Go Set, Ramshackle Army and The Alamo on Friday, October 30 and The Settlement, Blackwood Jack and Centre & the South on October 31.
The Lighthouse Theatre, meanwhile, will host the Tarerer Showcase Concert on October 31 featuring Archie Roach, Neil Murray, Andy Alberts and The Walkabouts, Lee “Sonnyboy” Morgan and Fiona Kershaw. An Aus Music forum sponsored by Music Victoria and a Fringe component are other highlights. From the festival: “The vision is to create an authentic, self-sustainable cultural event relevant to our region, history and environs. Components of the festival include an Aus Music Forum sponsored by Music Victoria, visual arts, an indigenous music presentation as well as numerous concerts and smaller gigs showcasing all musical genres.” Warrnambool – October 30 through November 1.
