The first of what is set to become an annual fundraising event, Ocean Mind 'Let It Rip' fundraiser brings together a league of local musicians for a great cause.
Celebrating the integral work that therapeutic surfing charity, Ocean Mind, does through their mental health, relationship building and goal-setting surfing-based recreational program, a live music fundraiser will be taking over Torquay Surf Life Saving Club next month.
Raising funds for the continued delivery of the mindful program in 2025 across the Surf Coast and Bellarine including Anglesea, Ocean Grove, and Torquay, and their most recent expansion into Morning Peninsula, the event will be held before the year closes out on Saturday 14 December from 6pm – 10pm, featuring live music from local legends.

The event boasts a big gun on the lineup, coming in with ragtime boisterous, folk rock family band, Watty Thompson and his Total Fire Band. Thompson has been building a strong following since his iconic performance at Meredith Music Festival, Gumball Music Festival and through his own solo tours. His self-titled release in 2023 has earnt him nods and is expected to be littered throughout his set! Catch him alongside his band before he makes his way to Port Fairy Folk Festival.
Thompson will be joined by Chitra. Described as the result of Alabama Shakes and Bon Iver having a child and then Beyonce adopting her, Chitra is a vocal force. An intimate songwriter making rousing indie rock blessed a hauntingly beautiful voice and epic live show.
The final confirmed act on the bill is local rockers Sargent Baker, who are set to bring their unapologetic pub rock music to the event. Recently they have played beside massive bands like Clamm, Our Carlson, Delivery, and Split System, as well as sweeping through their own sold-out headline shows.
More impressive artists will be announced in the following weeks, seeing the 4 hour event filled with fruitful tunes whilst you take in the breathtaking summer soaked view of the Torquay beach.

Ocean Mind Let It Rip is further supported by local brand, organisations and all-round superstars Blackmans Brewery, Flowstate and Feed Me Surfcoast, who all continually do their part in adding to the local community.
