Lee Kernaghan Regional Shows

Like Molly Meldrum and his Stetson, Lee Kernaghan has made the Akubra his own. However, like Molly, it is Kernaghan’s dedication to his craft that has defined him. The son of a country music singer and truck driver, Kernaghan released his debut solo album, The Outback Club, in 1993. To this day, its track ‘Boys from the Bush’ is a favourite.

He has long been a voice for rural Australia – he would win ‘Australian of the Year’ in 2008 for his work – and with more than 30 Golden Guitars he is a true legend of Australia’s country music scene. In 2015, however, his appeal broadened. His album, Spirits of the Anzacs, went Platinum within three weeks. Moreover, the album held the ARIA ‘all genre’ album chart number one position for four weeks and would finish the year as the highest¬ selling Australian release of the year.

Lee: “It was an enormous privilege to have been a part of the making of the album and such an emotional and moving experience to bring the stories of our Diggers to life once more in song … I’m incredibly excited to be taking the new show out on the road.” The ‘Songs & Stories in Concert’ tour hits GPAC on May 20, Her Majesty’s Theatre, Ballarat on May 21 and Lighthouse Theatre, Warrnambool on May 22.
