Lee Kernaghan concert documentary ‘Boy From The Bush’ is hitting cinemas this July

The part-concert film and part-road movie features live performances of some of Lee’s greatest hits (including a brand-new song) and the stunning local landscapes, remarkable people and amazing stories that have inspired him throughout his incredible thirty-year career.

Undoubtedly, Lee Kernaghan is one of Australia’s greatest country artists.

Kernaghan is special to Australia in ways that go beyond just his music. As described by Robert Patterson, Director of ABC Commercial, “He [Kernaghan] is not only one of Australia’s most successful music artists, he is also a tireless advocate for regional and rural Australians, bringing national attention to important issues.”

Now Kernaghan fans will be able to dive deep into his thirty-year career in a new concert documentary celebrating the life and music of the iconic Australian Country singer with “Lee Kernaghan: Boy From The Bush”, hitting cinemas next month.

Taking to cinemas nationally from July 28 for a limited run, and released theatrically in Australia by Maslow Entertainment and distributed by Universal Pictures Content Group, the film combines the stunning landscapes, remarkable people and amazing stories that have inspired him over many years, with some of his greatest hits and a brand-new song performed live with his band at a specially filmed concert.

The film is directed by Kriv Stenders (Slim & I, Red Dog) and produced by Chris Brown (Slim & I, The Proposition) and Diana Le Dean (Slim and I).

Winner of 37 coveted Golden Guitar Awards – a record he shares with the legendary Slim Dusty – and with over 2.5 million albums sold and 38 #1 hit songs to date, Lee has shaped a generation and made a huge impact on the country music scene both in Australia and around the world.

In a career that has now spanned over 30 years at the top it’s surprising that Kernaghan still sees himself as incredibly lucky to be doing the one thing in life he really loves; playing music.

“I feel blessed. I’ve been able to pursue my love of music and make a career out of it.”
