Lambys is finally back this weekend for a huge party

Words by Keegan Bennett

The iconic Geelong venue reopens its doors after a COVID-caused pandemic.

Avid clubbers, the time has come to return to Geelong’s legendary longstanding venue. Lambys Tavern is back open this weekend across four days (yes four!!), ready to serve up cold beers, hot tunes, and of course, Mario Karts!

Key Points

  • Lambys Tavern is back open this weekend
  • 9 pm til late Friday, Saturday, Sunday and Monday
  • Free entry before 10pm

After being forced to close due to the pandemic, everyone’s favourite no-frills venue is back, this time, with some frills. Whilst we’re still expecting the same old Lambys we know and love, some renovations have been undertaken during the closure, including a new Back Bar and a treat for the shoes of every guest, new carpet! We are promised a few extra surprises, but we will have to wait and see for those.

To make up for lost time in 2020, Lambys is throwing a massive party this weekend, with doors open from 9pm till late Friday, Saturday, Sunday and Monday with live bands downstairs, DJs, and the reopening of the Rave Cave (that bit where the stairwell is in case you’ve forgotten). If you needed any more incentive, Lambys is offering free entry before 10pm, so get in quick, if other venues are anything to go by, lines will be long.

A big one for Geelong locals, Lambys Sunday Sesh’s are back on too and are here to stay. The Tavern is offering half-priced drinks for their Hospo Fam, Students or Emergency Service Workers, to sign up for their Hospo Fam, click the link here. If you’re looking for an Emergency Service Card, head into Edge at 6-8 Eastern Beach rd to grab a magic card. Sunday Sesh’s feature acoustic classics and DJs playing your favourite RnB and party tracks.

As it was when the door closed, Lambys still offers a variety of drinks on tap, premixed from the fridge, or a selection of cocktails made to order, including the infamous Mario Kart, a Red Bull, vodka, and pineapple juice concoction, that is sweet, tangy and delicious for a warm night on the Lambys dancefloor.
