Lady Eats Apple Premieres in Melbourne

In a world premiere, Geelong’s Back to Back Theatre presents Lady Eats Apple. Directed by Bruce Gladwin, this a show that centres on death and explores different perspectives as it goes from the Garden of Eden to a medieval snowstorm and then to urban life and a pair of romantically involved cleaners.

Taking storm as part of Melbourne Festival, the theatre’s most ambitious show was forced to add two new shows due to popular demand at Melbourne’s Hamer Hall.

The internationally recognised theatre exclusively uses a cast of actors with perceived intellectual disabilities to tell the hypnotic story and collapse the space between the epic and the everyday.

This cosmic waltz is one for the mind – and it’s performed on a huge inflatable set. Be sure to check this one out this week.

When & Where: Hamer Hall, Melbourne – October 8 – 13
