Renowned for breaking down genre boundaries, Katie Noonan’s technical mastery and pure voice have made her one of Australia’s most versatile and beloved vocalists. Karin Schaupp, a sought-after recitalist and soloist internationally, is known for her exceptional guitar skills and ability to connect with audiences on a deeply emotional level. Together, these two virtuosi combine forces to create a unique sound to deliver a spellbinding performance.

In Songs of the Southern Skies Volume 2, Noonan and Schaupp return to their critically acclaimed Southern Skies catalogue, reinterpreting songs by iconic antipodean artists with fresh, reimagined arrangements. This time, they focus on celebrating the brilliant contributions of female Australian artists, reimagining the music of legends like Aunty Ruby Hunter, Missy Higgins, Sia, Kate Ceberano, Sarah Blasko, and more.

The album features a varied program of timeless classics and fan favourites, presented through the duo’s signature style, which blends classical and contemporary elements to create something uniquely their own. Along with these newly reworked arrangements, Noonan and Schaupp revisit some of the standout tracks from the first Southern Skies instalment, bringing a fresh perspective to the songs that first captured the hearts of listeners.

Noonan and Schaupp’s collaboration is an ever-evolving testament to their deep musical understanding and mutual respect, and with Songs of the Southern Skies Volume 2, they continue to push boundaries while paying tribute to the rich legacy of Australian music.

Songs of the Southern Skies Volume 2 is out now, and fans can stream it across all platforms. Don’t miss the chance to see Noonan and Schaupp perform live in concert this April!
