One of the region’s highlights on the literary calendar is the Bendigo Writers Festival and it’s back with its 2017 line up.
Taking place across various venues in Bendigo from August 11-13, the event sees more than 100 writers head to the regional town.
Highlights include John Safran talking about his new book Depends What You Mean By Extremist, Clementine Ford discusses the art of the debate and life as an adult in this post-millennial world, Jenny Valentish discusses the attraction of excess in relation to her new book Women of Substances, John Marsden shares his favourite poems and Maxine Beneba Clarke takes part in a slam poetry event – as well as many, many others.
Q&A’s Tony Jones also features in two sessions at the festival, one of which is discussing his fiction book about a very real bombing event in Sydney in 1978.
A series of workshops will also be presented across the three days.
Tickets can be purchased for individual events or passes for the whole weekend can also be obtained.
