The story of Joan Wasser is one enveloped in both tragedy and hope. As the former girlfriend of the late and great Jeff Buckley, Wasser had a deep connection to the New York music and art scene in which she forged her flavours for Joan As Police Women. The multi-instrumentalist and singer blends soul, classical and indie music together in her sound, elevating it with her potent lyricism. She has collaborated with a range of talented and highly respected artists including Anohni, Tony Allen and Rufus Wainwright.
Her twelfth studio album Lemons, Limes and Orchids is a crowning showcase of Wasser’s artistry in all is metamorphic splendour. The new album is a nocturne about love and loss, and sees Joan As Police Woman venture deeper into her jazz influences with further affections associated with electronic and ambient music.
Joan As Police Woman will be performing both new songs and beloved works from her extensive catalogue across the Australian tour, celebrating the diversity of her works.
