Jet to be inducted into the ARIA Hall Of Fame this year

words by staff writer

They'll be inducted at this year's ARIA Awards, which you can catch on November 15.

Marking the first time since an artist has been inducted into the ARIA Hall of Fame since Archie Roach in 2020, Australian rock band Jet are set to join the ranks on the 20th anniversary of their seminal album, Get Born.

“I don’t remember much about the actual day Get Born was released,” says Jet’s bassist, Mark Wilson. “I think we were in Pittsburgh. I’m sure we celebrated, but to be honest we celebrated every night back in those days. 2003 was one big blurry haze for me.”

The album propelled Jet to superstardom, earning them six ARIA Awards and achieving an impressive nine times platinum certification in their home country. In fact, it remains one of the top five highest-selling Australian rock albums of all time.

“Get Born was a rare and unique moment of total planetary alignment where we somehow managed to capture lighting in a bottle,” said vocalist Nic Cester.

Jet will perform their iconic hits on tour this year, including Are You Gonna Be My Girl and Rollover DJ. The band will be taking a trip down memory lane, revisiting their seminal 2003 LP, Get Born, and playing the entire album from start to finish. The Jet party never stops.
