I don’t know much about psychedelic sludge metal filth, but the internet tells me that Japan’s Ithaqua are really, really good at it. In fact, the internet tells me that their live show is “like a terrible road and a sky filled full of huge bats, all swooping and screeching and diving with bulldozing riffage and blistering, putrescent psychedelia”.
To me, that sounds like perfect Tinder date material. The band released their second EP, Death Drain, towards the end of 2014. The Karova, Ballarat – February 7. Joining them on their sludge journey will be Tsugnarly, Dead, Dewey & The Panel Beaters and Castration Party. And you get all this for the low price of $7. That’s the best deal in town.
